Sunny Byward Market and the Lock

The weather has been amazing recently, sunny and warm, it feels like summer on some days. Byward Market gets much bigger when the sun is out (and more crowded) and has more stalls outside.

Having some fruity drinks and gelatto ice cream.

Rastafarian dog.

This is down by the lock where the canal meets the river. The lock is long - there's about 5 separate chambers before you reach the end. It's not in use at the moment as the canal is still empty from the winter when it was frozen over, but sometime soon it will all be flooded.

A muskrat on some debris, trapped in one of the chambers.

To show how quickly the weather has changed, people in shorts and sandals walking past a pile of snow.
