Lots of walking...

We visited a few places today along a bus route, and did lots of walking in between.

First stop, Queenstown Heights. They made a really big deal that this guys column was taller than Nelson's.

Then Niagara Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Conservatory. Lots of nice gardens, and lots of these cute little birds who swarmed flowerbeds and held onto things sidewards and went upside down, like the two in this picture.

A suspicious looking carved Mountie at Niagara Glen totem pole park.

We didn't buy tickets into the park (everything in Niagara is so expensive!), but this was a free one you could stand by outside, with a missing wing.

At the glen we did a trek down through this forest to a part of the river called Devil's Hole.

The forest was strewn with humongous chunks of rock, some we had to climb between or over to get down the waters edge.

A small beach along the way.

At the hole there are jetboats that take people through the rapids. (Not that I know anything about rapids, but apparently they are rated 1 (slow) to 6 (very fast), and these ones are a 6.)

The river and rapids.
